Email alert test via ssl (setting up gmail smtp server test)

This is to perform quick tests for email alerts

 

Set up Gmail to use SMTP server

Google account settings

 

Go to the Security option

 

Scroll down.

Enable 2-step verification > Enter password

Once on this page, scroll down and select App Passwords

 

Provide a name, and hit the Generate button

 

 

Save the password

 

To test it using a simple online tool: SMTP Test Tool

Search for “SMTP Test Tool” (first link on Google)

 

Enter the details as below and use the copied password. Hit Test

It says test mail was sent successfully. Test Email received

Now testing on FID:

Settings > Monitoring > Email Alerts Settings

 

Check SSL.

Successfully sent test email, and email received
