Performing java upgrade on the node before FID upgrade
1. Login into the respective VDS server.
2. Before applying the patch, we will take the backup using the below export command and copy the Radiantone directory folder as well.
D:\RadiantOne\vds\apps\migration>migrate.bat export D:\tmp\export.zip
Take a backup of the radiantone folder.
You could also take a VM snapshot.
3. Always run upgrades first on the Followers, and finally on the Leader.
Ex. Go to Follower 1>
Stop all VDS running services and close any open RadiantOne applications (Main Control Panel, Context Builder, and LDAP Browser).
I. Zookeeper
II. RadiantOne VDS (vds_server)
III. RadiantOne VDS Management Console (vds_server)
Kill java processes
4. Download the respective upgrade files:
Download the below files from the Radiant support portal
I. radiantone_ua_<version>_windows_64.exe
II. radiantone_jdk<version>_windows_64.exe
JAVA UPDATE FIRST
***REBOOT MACHINE
THEN THE RADIANT ONE VERSION UPDATE
***REBOOT MACHINE
5. Run the Java update using radiantone_jdk<version>_windows_64.exe (for Windows).
6. Once the Java updater completes execution, then from a cmd prompt, navigate to <RLI_HOME>/jdk/bin and run java -version to confirm the version of Java has been properly updated.
Ex.
D:\RadiantOne\vds\jdk\bin>java -version
openjdk version "1.8.0_242"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (AdoptOpenJDK)(build 1.8.0_242-b09)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (AdoptOpenJDK)(build 25.242-b09, mixed mode)
7. REBOOT THE MACHINE
8. Run the below .exe file radiantone version update file
radiantone_ua_<version>_windows_64.exe
9. REBOOT MACHINE
*** NOTE: Please remember that rebooting the machine after each install is very important to reassure the setting of environment variables.
Repeat the same steps for the second Follower, and then the Leader.
Finally when you start back the services, First start the services on the Leader, and then the followers!
